I use a PRI and account codes from the LEC at our office. The way we fax is
1) paper in machine to fax 2) dial the number, enter a pause - what ever
key on the fax machine, then the account code 3) press start. Works every
time.

Then we have a large real estate office that cannot get the hang of doing
that. So for that what we have done is to have the LEC place a couple of
channels (depending on the number of outgoing faxes at the same time) in a
different hunt group and they will remove the account code requirement from
those channels. Say channels 22 and 23 are set up for the LEC to do this.
Program those channels in trunk group 2 and only give the fax machines
permission to access TG2 for outdialing. Set pick up dial for 9 (or 8++)
and your problem is solved!!!

The trick here is to have a good relationship with the LEC or CLEC so they
would be willing to set it up. IT CAN BE DONE.

Subject: KX-T: Account Code Unput When Outside Carrier Tone Heard

I have a case in that the customer has toll codes that must be entered after
the long distance number is dialed. These are used for stats and call
management by the long distance provider.

A 23 channel PRI is used for the lines in/our and the provider says that
there is no way on a selective basis to allow calls from some extensions to
go through while others cannot.

The problem is fax machines. Some users are upset that they must dial the
number, then wait until the tone to enter a code number.

Has anyone found a way for the KX-TDA200 to append these 4-digit codes after
dialing?
