I know this is from the archives and may not apply, as this was
originally for a KXTD1232 but with my own experimentation of a TVS200
upgraded to a TVS225 and connected to a KX-TA824 I found this
out. The TVS225 is operating in In band integration mode.

With the transfer setting to FXTD, the voice mail announcement played
when an extension is busy is not played but instead the pbx
forwards/returns the call back to voice mail and the PBX doesn't
report that the line was busy, the TVS225 starts from the beginning
and you hear, "If you know your parties extension...." However with
the transfer setting to FXTA, you still have music on hold and the
"extension busy please leave a message" announcement plays
correctly. I have "Call On Hold" for "Continue to Hold" enabled but
when the extension is busy the VMS automatically plays the "extension
busy, please leave a message" announcement.

Just my 2 cents

If the call is on hold by the TVS, then there is no music. But if the KSU
has the call on hold, music is played. Thus when you dial an extension and
it is busy, the TVS knowing it is busy, manages and holds the call to
determine if you want to wait, try another extension or leave a message. It
is not until the call is released from "management" by the TVS that you will
hear MOH. Just think of your process of how the call is routed and you can
determine if MOH will be heard. One way to get MOH is to set up extension
transfer sequence to FXD, this is where the TVS will DISCONNECT the call
from its' management and the KSU will handle routing.
