I have also had problems connecting to the external modem in the one KXTA824 I have installed. We could get connected but after several minutes communication errors were common. Finally I gave up and connected via USB. Seems like they have some type of a problem but I just didn't have time to troubleshoot. In a message dated 7/19/2005 5:18:27 P.M. have just installed a KX-TA824 (to replace a smoked 624). Using my desktop computer (going through an XDP port on an TD1232) tied to my moden, I was able to connect to the KSU with panasonic's software (manual xfer to ext 729) but not reliably. I now can not establish a connection at all. I hear the KSU's modem, but my local modem doesnt answer back. I get the same results using my laptop, so I dont think its the local modem. Panasonic tech was of no help on this one. There doesnt seem to be any config section for the internal modem. (btw, I can (or at least I did last week) connect via rs232 no problem. anyone have any idea?
