I think I got the point. I was reading in the user guide about page pick 
up. The only way it works is if the stations and the page are in the 
same group. I separated the phones and the pa system by making two 
groups. When ever the pa system used 3310 the stations could not pick up 
the call. Funny thing is the kxtd actually puts the line on hold and it 
blinks so any one can just press the blinking button. As soon as I put 
the pa port in with group one the *43 worked like a charm. I think that 
the default software settings are that the external page is in every 
group. If I would have left things alone I would have never had the 
problem in the first place. The voice mail places the call on some sort 
of consult hold, kind of like exclusive hold. All other buttons with 
that line stay steady red, as if they were in use. If it ain't broke 
don't fix it.
