Thanks for your reply. The ROM version of my system is P421N01023B. I
have no idea what the "dash" version is.

Unfortunately I don't have a butt set available, but I think I'll go and
get a cheap caller ID box to test it.

I am not using voicemail on the system. All of the phones I am using are
the KX-T7433 display phones, and all are set to ring on incoming calls.

Thanks,

Edward Forgacs

Caller ID in the states anyway, does require a 193 card. You did not
mention
the version of system. You will NOT get caller ID on analog stations
without
a special card to do that. The best way to check your caller ID is to
put a
butt set across the line in monitor and call the line. Between the first
and
second ring, you will hear a burst of data. Another reason it may not
work
is phone cable makeup. Try a stand alone CALLER ID box and see if it
works.
If you have a Voicemail on the system, using the attendant, you will
either
have to delay the number of rings by 2 for the VM to pick up to give the
system a chance to transfer the CALLER ID, OR in later VM uits, there is
an
option in the utilities menu to adjust. Caller ID in my experience, will
only display on a ringing phone at least on the older systems. You must
have
a 7431 or higher I believe in order for the display to work. This is
state
side. Hope it helps you out. Brad

Subject: KX-T: KX-TD816 Caller ID

I have a Panasonic KX-TD816AL (Australian version) which I would like to
use with caller ID. Currently, the system is being used with analogue
lines, as I do not have an ISDN service available.

Can someone please explain, first of all, if it is even possible to use
caller ID on an analogue line with this system? I want the caller ID to
come up on the proprietary telephones of the system, don't care about
analogue phones as I don't use any. Every time I ring up my dealer I get
a different answer to these questions.

I actually rang up the phone company and got them to add caller ID to
the service, and it didn't work, so I'm guessing that I need the
KX-TD193 card? Or is this card only for analogue extensions and not
analogue lines? If so, is there another card that will do the job?

Thanks for any assistance.
