In setting up a recent TVS50 with an KXTD816-7, the initial setup (dip switches set to 5) did not start up in Dpits mode. It started in APT, OFFLINE. Checked cord, jacks, KXTD816 programming for 117, even checked with another 816. Same results.
I then tried setting the dip to 0, turning TVS off, restarting, then going to Quick Start and setting PBX type to KXTD816. I answered the rest of the questions. Upon restart, Dpits worked correctly and the unit operated properly. Does anyone know why the Initial Setup didn't work? I usually install TVS2xx and haven't seen this problem. Is this a quirk of the TVS50? Any suggestions?
