Carl, I'll look at the Valcom but:

a) The existing wiring is a PITA to trace & clean up.

b) The curret apt sets (and they are phone-looking, not panel) get
abused and broken, if only because they are NOT WECO 2500 class.

Others pointed me to the Viking 3000 systems. It is exactly
what I wanted. It can use the existing POTS; if the owner
is not a modem user that's easy.

If they are, or have DSL -- there's a workaround if we have
a or/wh pair.

For those with no wireline, it works just as well. They can
buy a POTS set that is JUST intercom.

The only question is the price of it. Time to call Famous Telephone.
