Paul's suggestions are good... also
Set up Phantom Extensions in the ksu, then you assign the phantom extension
to the virtual mailbox.

Without the phantom extension you will need to have "all calls tfr to
mailbox" on in the box, or hit #6, or custom service key to mailbox in order
to reach the box from within the voicemail.

I'm not sure if that's your problem with the vmtfr button but it could be.
The ksu would be looking for an ext number to match what you just dialed,
when it doesn't find it it will claim it to be invalid.
