You mean that Panasonic could improve the KX-T system by adopting the
good practices of the DBS product? They do not even have to try to
learn about the features of a competitor's product (and run into
problems with access to product, etc.)?

When I was shopping for a phone system for installation North of San
Francisco, I could not get a DBS installer to call back.

A business needs product, sales, AND service to excel. Protective
marketing of superior products promotes poor sales and service.

I suspect that the Dilbert cartoon strip translates into Japanese very well.

Here I am!! For those of you that care, I've moved to Carson City, near Lake
Tahoe

CID on the "DBS32" AKA 8/24 requires a CPC-M processor. You can check versions
by going off-hook on any LCD phone, mashing the "CONF" button and dialing 7777.
If it says S, you need a new CPU, if it says M, alls you gotta do is add a CID
daughterboard (4 port) at ~300.

If your CPU is A,AII or B, you've got the larger system. "A" wont do CID, AII
and B will take it as long as the version number is higher than 6.11. On the
larger system, you need a compatible CO card and a $425, 8 port daughterboard.
These are discontinued and hard to find. (But I've got one)
IMHO, CID on a DBS is much more user friendly than the KX-TD. One thing I don't
like is that there is no "Callback" function when scrolling through logs.

Isn't it nice that they refer dbs users to kxt techs? Guess their dbs
territorial marketing strategy isn't working as well as they would like.
I've gotten some great customers who were fleeing from the (only) local dbs
seller.

Better call Joe in the morning (I keep his number in my Palm). The Pana and
other web sites says you can do it but I haven't seen any part number yet.
