Honestly, I've never heard of such a thing. Could you point me to such a
discussion or decision approved by any former member of the Release
team?

Regardless, as long as the packages ONLY affect their flavors, I think
the flavors should have a stronger opinion of what should be OK for the
packages they maintain. I wouldn't yet concur that the flavors can still
ACK their own FFes and uploads, but I don't expect the Release team to
come in their way to object to changes that only affect their flavors.

The only point that I've put forth in the past and will always re-
iterate is that whilst we're more lenient and let y'all decide what's
good or not for your flavor, the Release team will not take full (or
ideally, any) responsibility if things go wrong. I don't expect us to
move forward the release date or such if one of the flavors decided on
something and that didn't work out nicely. We'll help as much as we can
but moving the Release date around is not going to be a question in such
cases. :)

So as long as we agree on that, yes, please free to take your calls but
do have it run by us (we'll be more lenient and accommodating of your
requests in such cases).

Hope that helps?
