Mt.Vernon has been the location for 15 of the last 20 +/- Gatherings. In all those years, except 04 and maybe 05,(pre Chris collins era) our group has never been charged a fee or asked for a donation for our use of any of the facilities. We've had free access to the terminal and conference rooms, free hangar space for all attending aircraft, free camping, free firewood they supplied, offers of free transportation / vehicles, free help from office workers and maintenance personal, and other things I'm sure I'm forgetting or unaware of.
With that in mind and considering the group has an adequate operating fund and little or no expenses for this years Gathering, I suggested and the attendees voted on and approved a $500 dollar donation to the airport to be used as the management chooses. THANK YOU to all attendees of past Gatherings that have supported the Gathering financially for this to have been possible.
