I'm glad to see Ken has found a buyer for N56SB. I remember when he drove to Pratt, KS to pick up the plane from Sam Bailey. 2007 or therabouts. It was well-built as were all of Sam's three KR-1's - all the same to look at them. He used to put on aerobatic displays with one of them. I followed Ken's improvements to his new acquisition. Ken is a meticulous craftsman and a very good mechanic so the new owner is fortunate to have gotten a fine plane. Besides N335KC, Ken has rebuilt and improved several planes in his long career as an aviator and airplane builder. He flies of course (Commercial certificate) but his primary passion has been on the "building" side of things. I can think of a Sonerai, a Rans (that is in a museum display) and of course this Sam Bailey KR under discussion. I remember when he put the vortex tabs on it just to see if they worked. They did slightly reduce the stall. It is Ken in the Diehl wing installation video -
https://studio.youtube.com/video/qgJp95DhIOg/edit I'm sure N58SB is straightforward in handling and has no surprises. As with all normal KR's, they are very forgiving. If stalled it will mush with no particular wing drop. (I flew one of Sam Bailey's other KR's) Keep the speed _down_ on approach and there will be no problems. Touching down too fast is the source of almost all "first flight" scariness. The fact that this plane is a tricycle gear makes landing and ground handling even more effortless.
