If you suck on the fuel line or very light pressure into top of the header tank. Does fuel come out to the gasolator ( some sort of one way valve blockage)

Seems to me the gascolator should have a quick drain to test for fuel in the bowl. If fuel is present, open the primer line and see if fuel flows out. If so, the primer is not sucking fuel on the draw. Is the primer "inlet" connected to the gascolator? Does the gascolator have a functioning "O" ring to create a draw?
