Some will remember I was receiving code intead of text in my daily digest
from KRNET. Sometimes the entire email would be in code, sometimes just
a section. No one elese seemed to be having that problem so I figured
the problem would work itself out over -time. What happened shortly
after was a pop-up reminding me to change my password while I was writing
an an email on Yahoo Mail. I usually ignore these things but, without
thinking much about it, I went in to change my password. I've done it
many times over the years without problem. On this occasion, the new
password was not recognized by Yahoo Mail. So . . . I changed it back to
the password I'd been using at the time of the pop-up. It was not
accepted either. I've spent countless hours trying to recover 16 years
of folders, so far without success.

I don't know that the gibberish I was getting with my KRNEt email had
anything to do with my loss of access to Yahoo Mail, but it's the only
two times in all these years that I've had problems with my email. No
other programs seem to have been affected. I'm back to using Juno,
meanwhile hoping to get someone at AT&T (Yahoo Mail) who can fix my email
problem. It may be too much of an assumption to suppose that KRNET has
become the target of hackers, but I can't help associating the gibberish
emails I was getting on KRNET was a forewarning. Maybe so, maybe not.

I guess the point of this email is to ignore, or be very careful of, any
pop-ups that ask you to change your password.

It seems I've suddenly lost my hearing. Not completely, but about 90%.
This happened suddenly, two or three days ago. It's like I've got
earplugs lodged in my ears or water following a shower. I've done the
Hydrogen Peroxide wash-out using a small bulb (like a turkey baster) and
have let the ear canals soak with tea tree oil and regular pharmaceutical
ear drops. I'll be seeing an ENT doctor later today. I'm hoping it's
just a build-up of wax. I use earphones a lot, something that
contributes to a build up of wax but I think that only applies when
volume is high. I always use normal volume, so that's doubtful . . . but
I'll get it diagnosed. My mom lost her hearing in the last years of her
life so maybe I've inherited this issue. I'll never pass a medical with
hearing like this, plus I've not been flying lately anyway. Dimishing
enthusiasm is the only reason I can think of for spending so little time
at the hangar. I'm healthy as hell (except for this sudden ear issue) so
I've no decent explanation for my lack of interest in flying lately.
Sparky had lost his enthusiasm for flying too for the last few years
although he would show up at the hangar every Thursday. The airport will
never be the same, at least for me.

I haven't put Ken Cottle's little gem on Barnstormer's yet and I'm
actually not all that enthusiastic about selling it. However, if this
hearing problem turns out to be serious I'll have no choice.

Everything works fine. No nicks, leaks, hangar rash, or problems of any
kind. Canopy unscratched and wing skins are as immaculate as when Ken
and Dan Diehl put them on. This is the plane featured in Dan's
instruction/installation video. I keep the canopy covered with a large
soft cotton cloth. Naturally, it's been hangared it's entire life. I
paid Steve Bennett $13,100 for it and have made some significant
improvements since I bought it. Naturally I'd like to get close to what
I have in it but anyone with interest send me a note. I'll deliver the
plane to wherever the buyer wants it in return for expenses and a ticket
back home to SAN. I imagine a prospective buyer would like to come to
KSEE and do an inspection prior to delivery. Certified Day/Night IFR.
Builder's photograph logs (3) and all other paperwork in order. Payment
(cash) would be on delivery.

I ordered and received the TailbeaconX along with the fancy EFIS
controller ($4400) but Uavionix issued a recall on this model immediately
after shipping it . . . so it doesn't have ADS-B. I wanted the
TailbeaconX because it meets Canada's, Mexico's, and the rest of the
world's ADS-B requirements. It works off satellites. Planned to mount
it inside rear fuselage.
