It I loose oil pressure reading and make a bit of a mess, I will chance it.
If I lose 4 quarts of oil and seize the engine within a few minutes, I
won't.

The idea of 200+ degree engine oil squirting through a pinhole at 30 to
50 psi all over my legs behind the panel would not appeal to me. To
each his own..................
