I had the pleasure of riding with Jeff as he put me through the paces in preparation to fly my KR's initial flight. Though it is widely understood that neither airplane resembles the other, they share similar flight characteristics so closely that a KR pilot can actually prepare to fly the KR by getting stick time in an RV. I know cause I have access to an RV6 and an RV10 which I get to fly regularly. I know that the RV10 has a massive engine (compared to my VW) but it's the stick time that counts. The RV6 has maneuverability, the tailwheel, an over-the-nose sight picture while on the ground, and many other similar characteristics to the KR.
I know I will never find an exact duplicate trainer unless I fly another KR, so for the time being, flying an RV fits the bill for me. and as for Jeff's generosity, I thank him from the bottom of my heart for his time and investment to help me prepare to fly my KR.
