This photo does not show them installed on the front side of the rear spar but is a good photo of their design.  They are each bolted to the rear spar with two 3/16" bolts, one through the center of each rear spar cap.  The "flat side" (90 degree angle) is mounted on the floor side. (gusset pointing toward the floor) (material is 1/8" 4130 as I recall) I extended the attach point of the belt forward of the spar for , what I considered, better placement of the belt across my lap.  My logic was a close to rear spar belt attach held you from forward movement but less from vertical movement.  I tried to split the difference.
