Regarding this subject, I must disagree on both accounts.  It is more up to
the configuration of the plane.  Steering with brakes cannot be as good as
steering with rudder pedals.  But some trikes do steer with rudder pedals.
The KR however, trike steers with brake and the conventional steers with
either or both.

As far as flying, I have been told on many occasions that you don't know the
difference once the wheels leave the ground.  I believe that.  So, why would
one fly better than the other?

My current plane handles exactly like my KR did, because it is configured
the same.  The brakes are better mostly because these are hung from the top
as many of the KRs have been build lately.  

I also think that conventional gear is more safe because of accidents like
what happened to Jim.
