As most of you know, and many of you have used and appreciate, there's a
"KR-info" performance spreadsheet posted on KRnet at
http://www.krnet.org/kr-info.html , where many of the flying KRs have
their vital statistics displayed for the help of the community. This is
useful for those planning to build a KR to help decide what they'd like
to build, and what propeller to use for a certain aircraft and engine
combination. For those already flying, it's a good way to see where
your plane stacks up in the mix, and perhaps help you think about what
you could do to increase efficiency. In recent weeks we've had
conversations from several folks who've detailed how they gradually
improved their planes to get higher speeds through more efficiency.
This kind of info is helpful to us all.

Here's my plea. There are several newly minted KRs that have been
flying for months or even years, that are not even listed in the
spreadsheet. I've had two guys send me updates in the last few days,
but there are so many more missing. Can you guys please send me some
data to insert in the spreadsheet? Surely you can find the time to make
one wide open 5 minute run to figure out what max speed is, and I can't
imagine anybody flying one of these that doesn't do that on occasion.

How do you contribute? Just write the stuff down in the order that it's
in the spreadsheet, and email it to me at m...@n56ml.com. That's pretty
simple. If you have Excel, download the spreadsheet, add a row for your
plane, and email it to me. I'll cut and paste it into the online
version. For those who are already in the spreadsheet, maybe it's a
good time to check and see if it needs updating. Just let me know what
needs to be changed.

I've asked for this stuff every year for years, and it's been several
years since I got any input from anybody. Can you please spend a few
minutes to send me some data, if for nothing else, for the good of
future builders? FYI, "cruise speed" is wide open throttle max speed
straight and level, ideally gathered with a three or four-way GPS check
on a fairly windless day, but don't let that delay you. Throw us a
number....you can correct it later when you have time to do it
right....or when you've squeaked a few more MPH out of your plane!

Thanks,
