Hi Craig,

Replying directly to you rather than the list, as I'm king of the lurkers on the KR scene since I don't own one.  Started to build one years ago, wound up building a BD-4 instead.  I still love the KR's, just decided that I liked working with metal more than fiberglass.

Anyway, I'm a software guy for a living, and have done a fair bit of tinkering with the Arduino.  My 1/2 finished home-brew engine monitor is Arduino based.  I'd love to hear any details you collected on the fuel flow monitor.  Especially the flow tranducer.  The Flo-Scan ones are pretty expensive, and the $10 versions on eBay are kind of scary for aviation use.  If I could find a reliable sub-$100 fuel transducer the rest would be simple.

If your feeling especially Randy about a DIY fuel flow you could buy one of the
ebay sensors and send the pulses to an Arduino board to do it cheap.
Programming required. I started one on my Smith but never finished it. I can
dig through my test data and find how many pulses per gallon they put out, I'm
just not savy at the writing code part.

Flight Data Systems sells on for $369 through Aircraft Spruce; just slightly
over your limit. Pacific Coast Avionics has one listed on Ebay for $349 with
free shipping, so that meets your criteria. Blow the dust off that credit
card...

Subject: KR> fuel flow sensors

The C140 I flew today had a fuel flow meter and I found it to something
I'd like to have in the KR. I'm not willing to spend more than $350 or
so on the entire system and I want it easy to install in my fuel line
with common aircraft type compression fittings or I'll pass on the
idea. Any suggestions appreciated to me personally at
