I have used this material and it works very well. The aluminized surface 
reflects the vast majority of heat and the fiberglass backing will insulate the 
surface from the rest. The adhesive will not stick to a lot of things so I 
riveted it in place through my cowl and used a thin aluminum backing strip for 
the back side of the pulled rivets. You can then fill the outside and sand to 
hide the rivet heads.
