FWIW, I find on my O-200 with a MS carb, if I just throttle back a little to around 24 In MP or less, my CHTs will even right out and I burn significantly less fuel while still maintaining 135 - 140 kts cruise. The throttle plate itself, when not in the full open position, will cause a lot of turbulence and better mixing. It's pretty rare for me to ever cruise at full throttle, so I don't see the uneven fuel mixing at full throttle as an issue.
