I there an aluminum or composite prop that could be used in place of a wood prop? I am just now gearing up to build a KR2S and follow these threads with great interest.
 I have a Corvair engine that I plan to use in this project.

I've not seen or heard of a metal prop for the Corvair.  I'm sure you could find a composite prop but I have no knowledge of their wear pattern in rain.  Others on the list would be more knowledgeable on that.  Personally,  I wouldn't even consider flying the KR in hard IFR where anything other than a wood prop is needed. But that's just me...................
