January 10 at 3:59pm   Hi all, lived to tell this tale, thought I would let
every body know and may be learn from this, yesterday while testing a new
engine refit to a jabiru 3300 up front from the revmaster r2300 which was very
problematic, during engine load testing to set the pitch on the new prop
winding the engine up to try and get the level speed on the prop to 3200 rpm
the plane went into severe flutter on the wings at 190Kt so instantly pulled
into a climb to reduce speed and at the same time ripped right side aileron
off, if I hesitated I swear I would have lost a wing or both, it pulled the
centre of out of the wing aileron spar were the captive nuts were, edges
remained bonded to the wing skins, and hinge remained attached to the plane by
the bell crank but the aileron was disintegrated, the flutter was that sever I
was bouncing in the seat and swear I saw the wings twisting about 4" at the
tip, after climbing levelled the plane out at 90kt and assessed what had
happened, still had pitch and yaw, roll was very limited and spongy and tended
to roll to the left, found I could still fly the plane and keep the wings level
with a bit of right rudder and carried out a an uneventful landing, on the
ground found that the right side aileron was also damaged lost the mass balance
and started to separate the control horn hence the spongy control on the stick,
so now I have to take the wings home open them up inspect the spars and rebuild
or make the wings due to my own stupidity of pushing the plane to its limits
