Yes, you do.  Equal and opposite reaction thing, if there's a propeller
on it (and I assume there would be to check cooling).  I personally
would not bother with this.  The engine will run much cooler in flight,
so if you optimize the cowling to run cool on the ground, you'll have
way too much cooling in flight, and way too much drag.  More than
likely, it will cool just fine in flight, and if not, modifications will
likely be limited to baffling (or plenum) and the lower exit area of the
cowling, which will not be noticeable.  I'd finish the thing before you
get too old to fly it...
