I used 3/16 nylaflow on the three planes I've built. I found that 1/4" had too much stretch in the wall of the tubing, so robbed a lot of the brake pedal stroke to stretching the nylaflow tubing. I've seen other kits are now using 1/8" nylaflow. I always use Aluminum tube or rated hydraulic line for the segment from the gear leg to the wheel. Especially if you plan to use wheel fairings.
