I sat in Roy's plane back in 94 or 95 at Oshkosh and still have the Kitplanes
magazine article on it. It was setup to have the wings removable.

Hi all

I have just bought the above KR2 from a deceased estate here in NZ, where it
has sat in a barn for 10 years. it was bought by a local man from Gary N. Sack
of Eureka California, but never registered or flown here.

It appears to be in good original condition, but has damage to the fibreglass
and foam at the root end of both wings.  It does look as though this could have
been done by someone removing the wings for putting the plane in a shipping
container, perhaps not realising how they were supposed to be detached.  I
might be wrong on this...perhaps the wings were made permanently attached by
Roy in connection with his speed record attempts and it was necessary to damage
them to remove them.

I would be very interested if anyone could shed any light on this or indeed, on
any other aspects of the aircraft’s construction or subsequent life in the USA.
