Hi KR friends, I need to extend the dan Dhiel nose gear S- tube about 1.5 inch. I want to make a bush 4130st steel with the same diameter and weld it to the vertical (nose wheel) side. I see no problem in this because this side has a lower tension than the side at the fuselage. If you look to the specs off the nose gear it is heat treated. Do I need a heattreatment after the welding on this side? if yes, Is this the same heat treatment as you do with the engine mount? So I put it thogether with the engine mount in an oven.
