Bob,
Suggest you call the MD-RA in your area (check the web site) and open a file 
for inspections if you have not done so already.
They can walk you through the process to apply for a new Certificate of 
Registration to have Transport Canada assign you new letters ( C-XXXX)
Once you have the letters , you can make the data plate and schedule a final 
inspection when ready.
