Gary,
The St. Mary's County School Board announced this week that they are setting
up a flight simulator class for selected public high school students (likely
Juniors and Seniors). The simulator is being furnished by the National
Flight Academy. Initial funding is from a $250,000 grant from the Naval Air
Warfare Center Aircraft Division at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The
School Board is including the flight simulator class in the coming school
year budget to start in July 2013. St. Mary's College of Maryland will
train the flight simulator teachers. The Superintendent of Schools and the
Board members highly support the class as a most welcome addition to the
Aviation Technology Completer program that has been underway for several
years for St. Mary's County high school students. The ATC students receive
advance credits for training for A&P licenses. Most of the ATC students go
on to get their A&P licenses and many are employed at Patuxent River
maintaining the Navy aircraft based there. (Civilians maintain all of the
94 Pax River Navy aircraft.) School Board members were adamant that the new
simulator class be accredited and part of a career path curriculum.

So I was wondering if anyone else had a Skid type creating a passion for
all things flying and / or all things building.
