List-Post: krnet@list.krnet.org Date: Sunday, Jan.15,2012 Subject: 1835 VW props
Dave/et/all FYI, the first prop I tried on N54PB was a 52 X 52 and it was way to much pitch. I was only able to turn about 2500 rpm, the climb was poor and the speed was dismal. This prop was supplied by the person who I bought the engine from and he said that he had ran it on his KR2, but I don't believe it. I now have two props that I use, my normal cruise prop is a 52 X 47 and works quite well, it is made by Aymar-Demuth, the second one is a climb prop and is a 50 X 42. I use this one to achieve maximum take off performance especially after making modifications to the aircraft until everything is verified to be safe. I have a 1835 turbo charged VW installed. Hope this info is of some use. It's a 53" prop, on an 1835 (presumably HAPI) VW. 1) Is repairing such a crack safe/economical, and if so, how does one go about doing it? 2) What is the 'normal' range of prop dimensions for a KR-2 with an 1835? Eg, how do I determine what to replace this prop with, if fixing it is out the window? _______________________________________ Search the KRnet Archives at http://www.maddyhome.com/krsrch/index.jsp to UNsubscribe from KRnet, send a message to krnet-le...@mylist.net please see other KRnet info at http://www.krnet.org/info.html _______________________________________ Search the KRnet Archives at http://www.maddyhome.com/krsrch/index.jsp to UNsubscribe from KRnet, send a message to krnet-le...@mylist.net please see other KRnet info at http://www.krnet.org/info.html
