You can plate on fiberglass (and other non-metallic surfaces) with chemical
conditioning that uses a palladium sensitizer, followed by electro less
copper, electrolytic copper, nickel and then chrome. I spent twenty five
years building circuit boards which are made on a glass reinforced epoxy
substrate. If there is a lot of flex in your piece or high levels of
vibration, it may be problematic long term. You might be better off with
spun aluminum that is polished and clear coated. It would probably be
lighter too.
