In order to make a decision, you should determine just what results 
you hope to achieve.  Are you looking for a lower stall speed plus 
drag for landing or would simply adding drag for landing be sufficient.

In my case a 9X30 inch belly board that lowers to nearly 90 degrees 
is totally sufficient in adding drag for the landing approach and my 
KR is heavy at 765 pounds empty.  Mark Langford is using split flaps 
( I don't know the size) and is happy with their performance.  I'm 
not sure I'd go through the complication of trying to combine the 
two.  Just my opinion.
