Thanks for the cowl answers, I wasn't sure what molds survived the flood
that Steve had to endure, that was the basic question. I used to live in
Alton IL next to the Mississippi, got to experience two "500 year" floods in
two years. At least we didn't have "brush fire season" to deal with also. I
understand that NVaero is in the middle of moving to higher ground. The
cowl on Marty Roberts plane looks great! Also the canopy on Joe Hortons
plane is same as current NVaero KR2S as I understand , has very similar
profile to dragonfly , nice slope, also 1/16" thicker .Should be a good
"bird deflector" and allow more material to be polished out should a scratch
occur. I am restarting this project after 8 years . Lost interest mainly do
to stability issues and pitch sensitivity reports. Was working as A&P at a
Cessna service center/ repair station when I started, had very good building
skills but was a low time pilot. The work that you people here at krnet
have done , especially Mark Langford, on these issues have restored my
enthusiasm . It seems that I stopped building at just the point to allow the
horz stab and new wing mods to be applied. My new home is only about 50%
finished and has no garage yet, therefore the living room is to
become the "aircraft construction room", rear sliding glass door is "hangar
door" and fuselage will hang from vaulted ceiling while the wings are on the
table. I will apologize in advance for the mountain of questions and advice
on mods that will soon follow. Thanks again for all
you builders that have pioneered these improvements!
