Speaking of artificial horizons, my turn and bank indicator has been making 
lots of bearing noise lately, and yesterday while flying I noticed it wasn't 
working anymore.  A little later it started fogging up, which didn't make 
any sense...and then it got REALLY fogged up.  I thought "gee it's probably 
getting hot if the motor's locked up", so I felt the back of it and it 
burned my hand!  I thought I'd land real quick and unplug it, and then it 
occurred to me that I could just unplug it in about five seconds, so I did 
that and went on about my merry way.  It was still warm when I landed an 
hour later, but I did manage to get in 8 landings at four airports in the 
meantime.  I guess I'm looking for a T&B alternative now.  Maybe it's time 
for a little glass in my cockpit...
