Just to be on the safe side.  I put two layers of deck cloth on my fuselage.

Cover the fuselage and wet lay-up areas with micro (epoxy with micro 
balloons).  Be sure to clean off all your finger prints from the plywood for 
best adhesion.  Clean the wax and finger prints from the fiberglass with 
Metal Prep 79 to save lots of unnecessary, futile and dangerous sanding. 
Mix enough micro balloons for a wet peanut butter consistency.  You will 
sand most of the micro off and it sands quite easily by hand.  Use the 
longest and flattest sanding board you can get to fit.  The micro will fill 
all the checks in the plywood and the weave valleys in the fiberglass to 
provide a smooth leveled surface ideal for primer.  Remember to only touch 
the sanded and cleaned surfaces with gloved hands.
