>Do most builders glass the outside of the fuselage (wood bits) these >days?
Cover the fuselage and wet lay-up areas with micro (epoxy with micro balloons). Be sure to clean off all your finger prints from the plywood for best adhesion. Clean the wax and finger prints from the fiberglass with Metal Prep 79 to save lots of unnecessary, futile and dangerous sanding. Mix enough micro balloons for a wet peanut butter consistency. You will sand most of the micro off and it sands quite easily by hand. Use the longest and flattest sanding board you can get to fit. The micro will fill all the checks in the plywood and the weave valleys in the fiberglass to provide a smooth leveled surface ideal for primer. Remember to only touch the sanded and cleaned surfaces with gloved hands. Sid Wood Tri-gear KR-2 N6242 Mechanicsville, MD, USA smw...@md.metrocast.net
