I added some new pictures tonight of my heat muffs that I made last week and an altered installation of my landing and taxi lights if anyone is interested. The SCAT tubing has arrived and will be installed from the carb heat muff to the carb heat box and from the cabin heat muff to the cabin heat box tomorrow - 7/21. I'll add more pictures later for those of you still building like I am who might be contemplating how you may want to do your own. Maybe these will help with your planning.
The landing and taxi lights originally started out as rectangular off road racing lights but the 100 watt bulbs I concluded were going to be too powerful for the alternator output so I changed the lights to round 55 watt driving lights. They're lighter weight and seem bright enough. Another pilot at the airport said that now they look just like his V-tail Bonanza lights. The light on the right (passenger side) wing is aimed straight with the line of flight for landing. Once on the ground I'll shut that light down and turn on the one on the pilots side which is aimed more downward when the tail's on the ground to light up the immediate area in front on that side. I've taxied it around after dark and they work just like I wanted them to. The new pictures are on my link from the KR2 net for those interested in the detail. It is at http://www.sharkdriver.zoomshare.com. Any comments are appreciated. Neal Hornung lt1corve...@earthlink.net EarthLink Revolves Around You. P.S. I envy all those of you going to Oshkosh. Hope you all have a safe trip and get your fill of airplanes for this year if that's possible.
