Good day KR2er?s,

I have a slight problem that I hope somebody can maybe give me some advice on.

My KR2 was built in the 80?s and has flown over 300 hours since then. I got
hold
of the aerie some time ago and have been doing a refurb on the old girl. I had
some problems with one of the wings and have since had it remade (as per
plans).
Both the wings were originally made with the BID layer horizontally, ie not on
the bias. I have been told that early plans didn?t call for laying on the bias?
The other original wing has been repaired, painted and is ready for fitting,
but
I have been lead to believe that with the cloth not on the bias, the wing is of
concern.

Where to now? My thoughts are to weigh the two wings, as a starting point, and
it has been suggested to profile the wing down to the layer of glass, and
reskinning with a light layer of BID on the bias ? hopefully without too much
weight gain?Rather than remaking the entire wing.

Any comments or ideas?

Regards,

Pat
