Ron, I may be going against the grain here but I don't feel it is one of the have to have instruments. I was perfactly happy monitoring the exhaust temps and still do. now having said that I treat it more as a back up for me to verify information. I have gone to the extreme this past year of installing a sensor on each stack and installing a switch to go from side to side to compare (and they are different). As i update instruments I discover that I may or may notwant to keep something else. The g meter comes to mind right now. I could go without that too. The obstruction in the exhaust stream I had wondered about also but it seems to be a non issue and made no noticeable diffrence in temps or power.
