Hi Robin. After some messing about I ended up using the 2 part expanding foam and held the urethane to the timber with the sash clamps to stop any movement. http://www.kr-2s.com/elevator.html To glue 2 x 2" sheets together I also used expanding foam and a makeshift press, however I learned fairly quickly to keep the part A & B stuff well clear of any join that is going to be sanded.
