Some years ago I flew out to Kuala Lumpur. I was given a small complimentary pen knife by the airline.
It always sits in the pocket of my work bag. Back in Aug I flew on hols UK to Spain. I slung my camera and some other junk in the work bag and forgot about the wee knife. I suddenly remembered just before we were due to go thru the metal detectors, I thought - ah well, if they find it then they take it, no sweat. They didn't spot it. On the way back I did exactly the same dumb trick, and yep, you guessed they missed it again. They did spot my 6 year son's round tipped safety scissors in his pencil case though and duly confiscated them.
