I am convinced that EMPI is the reason that I have junked 2 sets of heads. The ones that I put on, on this last re-build, are genuine VW. Well, as genuine as you can get these days. I think the EMPI are OK, on the heads with the stock size valves, but are not, on the 2180 with the oversize valves.
