I'm not an engineer but a 2" hose sounds a bit overkill and I'm not
too impressed with the NACA ducts I have on my KR for cockpit
cooling. I ended up putting a small scoop on the outside to direct
more air into the cockpit to make them work better.

I cool my gascolator with a 1" hose attached to the back side of the
engine cooling baffle. My gascolator cover leaves the bottom side
open with the forced air entering the top. The open bottom is near
the cowling exit on the bottom. I've not had any problems in the
350+ hours so far, even when burning auto fuel in the first 200 or so
hours. Your primary objective is the keep the gascolator at ambient
temperature, shielding it from engine heat. My suggestion would be to
keep it simple. Your other concern will be to keep the line from the
gascolator to the carburetor cool. Make sure you rap it with the
orange fire hose.
