Thanks Mike,

A few weeks ago I was over at Jeanette's looking at some of her old photos.
There were several of Lance and his plane. I found he actually helped out
quite a bit with the KR stuff as well. The old flyer she used to send out
with photos of different components was made by Lance.

By the way, speaking of that old brochure, I have 2 sets left of the
original KR interior for sale that was listed on it. One is the blue and
one is the tan. Included is the seat bottoms, backs, and side panels. A
deal for $150 plus shipping each set if anyone is interested.

Regards,

And so this little plane that started the whole composite movement is now
being given an infusion of new energy. Congratulations Steve! I'm sure
the availability of advanced components will breathe new life into this
history making design.

I wonder how many outside the KR community know that Lance Neibauer
started Lancair with a KR? He built one (now in Texas I believe) and
then took what he learned from the KR and enhanced it. That was a direct
step easily understood, but the composite kit builders who followed,
including Rutan, all owe some of what they've done to Ken Rand's
ingenuity.
