My left wing tank did just that. I cut open the wing, cut out the bottom of the tank, resealed everything, put the wing back together, and have flown it for 350 hours over 5.5 years with no problems. I'm not sure which way I go if doing it over but my tanks would still be in the outer wing panels ONLY, NO HEADER TANK. Larry Flesner
