Yesterday, I arrived Falcon Automotive at 10:00am and walked out of his shop
last night at 8:30pm. I must say that working with Mark P for a full day is
truly and inspiration. Mark P is one knowledgeable Corvair mechanic. I learned
so much from working with him yesterday. Together we built the complete short
block and installed Dan Weseman's fifth bearing on the engine. Every component
on my engine was inspected cleaned, checked for tolerances, plastigauged,
miced, measured, tested and retested. Mark P completely refurbished my heads
and installed all new intake valves and exhaust valves. There was a lot of
aluminum all through my engine from where the cam gear disintegrated. We made
sure every spec was removed. I am totally confident I will now have a bullet
proof Corvair engine that will keep me airborne without worry. I have not flown
since Nov 1st '08 so I am really anxious to get back in the air which will be
real soon now. I would like to thank William Wynne, Woody Harris, Dan Weseman,
Mark Petniunas and Michael Amick for all helping me pull this together. I would
also like to thank all of you who have stayed in touch with me with your
concerns and well wishes on getting back in the air. Look out guys, Jones will
be back in the skies real soon.
