Gas struts CAN be reduced in pressure ....it's just a matter of releasing the gas, re-sealing the unit ...then resetting to your spec's ....I do it over here for a living ....I have a cousin in NZ that could possibly do it for you i8f you get stuck !.....cheers ....Vikk
