More thinking than actually doing.  My fantasy was that now that my youngest
child was off to college I would have tons of time.  I don't know what happened
but that glut of time I expected never materialized.  However, I am making
progress on several fronts.
1. I hope to build the wings over Christmas vacation.  Since I do not know how
to fiberglass and I want to make sure I do it right (not so that it looks right
but actually is right) I got a guy in the fiberglass boat business to help me
and we should be doing the wings before the end of the year.  That will be a
big step.
2. At that same time, I will be working with two guys from my home airport.  I
feel that I am very lucky in that 2 guys who are now "hangar bums" are both
retired Delta mechanics.  Both with A&P and A&I certifications.  They have
offered to review all of my wiring/cotrols etc. to let me know if I have done
it correctly.  Whenever I get to the point of actually flying  the KR, one of
them will probably do that first test flight as he was also a test pilot and
ferried many a plane (mostly to South America).  You can't buy that kind of
experience.
3. I have all the materials and pieces/parts to put my engine together.  Just
need to find the time to do it.  If I didn't have to go to work all the time I
would get so much done.

So, to review.  I plan to have the plane finished before spring.  Hopefully to
start the engine during the same time frame.  Target?  The Gathering.  Reality?
 We'll see.

Anybody been making progress on a KR lately? The weather's been less than
optimal lately for flying OR working on KRs here, but surely somewhere
somebody's getting a little closer to flying. I'll bet the Aussies are
cookin'...
