Hello All, Can any one help me? Ive bought a nearly- finished KR2 and there are 2 jobs left to do and I would be grateful of any advice or photos:
Canopy. I have the plastic "bubble" and a curved fibre glass surround. Is the surround to be stuck to the airframe or to the canopy? ie does it lift up as the canopy opens or does it stay down on the airframe. Secondly, how is it all fixed in place? In the UK, where I am, the canopy, I understand, MUST be hinged at the front rather than the side. Any photos? Undercarraige: Id like to replace the retractable undercarraige with a fixed one. Either taildragger or tricycle and I have a couple of questions. The existing landing gear looks simple to remove but can I just drill out the spar and bolt a fixed one on in its place? Also, If I go for the tricycle ortion (which I'd prefer) how much weight does it add and is it a straightforward job or does the firewall need upgrading? Any advice would be gratefully received.
